About May Mobility: May Mobility develops and deploys autonomous vehicles powered by Multi-Policy Decision Making technology, providing transit solutions that bridge public transportation gaps and enhance urban mobility.

Role Overview: Lead test engineering efforts for autonomous vehicle systems by developing comprehensive test plans and mentoring engineering teams. Design, build, and optimize simulation tests that validate autonomous vehicle systems for safe deployment.

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan with moderate travel requirements (11-25%).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide team of test engineers in developing comprehensive test plans for autonomous vehicle fleet and infrastructure components
  • Interpret test results, produce follow-up plans, and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Collaborate with Autonomy and Systems Engineering teams to understand validation needs in fast-moving development environment
  • Conduct testing using automated, functional, performance, stress, regression, and soak testing methodologies
  • Create and manage processes for vehicle validation testing and deployment
  • Develop complex scenarios to validate autonomous driving algorithms including perception, planning, and control systems
  • Conduct thorough testing of simulation environments and provide detailed performance reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering field with 5+ years experience testing complex safety-critical systems
  • Experience with software, firmware, and hardware testing, preferably in automotive context
  • Valid driver's license with clear driving record and ability to operate test vehicles
  • Experience using Linux-based operating systems and demonstrated simulation design expertise
  • Master's degree in Robotics or Computer Science preferred
  • Experience with Autonomous Vehicle Simulation tools such as Applied Intuition, Carla, Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge of OpenScenario, OpenDrive, or simulation standards
  • Coding experience in Java or Python preferred
