About May Mobility: May Mobility develops autonomous vehicle technology for municipal transportation systems and provides infrastructure solutions for autonomous vehicle operations.

Role Overview: Network Reliability Engineer will deliver enterprise-level uptime for headquarters and datacenter operations while enhancing stability and performance of critical network and server infrastructure. This role emphasizes automation-driven infrastructure management and proactive maintenance.

Location: Must reside within 1-hour commute of Ann Arbor, Michigan with moderate travel requirements (11-25%).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform proactive maintenance including health checks, configuration audits, and firmware updates on network devices and server infrastructure
  • Design and implement internal automation tools and scripts using Python, Golang, and Bash for monitoring and configuration management
  • Contribute to highly available and redundant infrastructure solutions adhering to disaster recovery best practices
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex network and system issues with incident response participation
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures
  • Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance infrastructure reliability and automation capabilities
  • Participate in on-call rotation and incident response procedures

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years progressive experience in IT infrastructure with emphasis on network engineering and systems administration
  • Deep understanding of IPv6, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall concepts
  • Experience with server operating systems (BSD/Linux) and cloud platforms, particularly AWS
  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Go, and Bash for infrastructure automation
  • Experience with open-source networking software and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Relevant industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS) and configuration management tools experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits: $95,000 - $120,000 annually
