About May Mobility: May Mobility develops autonomous vehicle technology for municipal transportation systems, providing solutions that support public transit infrastructure and community mobility services.

Role Overview: Senior Perception Engineer will collaborate with engineering teams to design, implement, and deploy perception solutions for autonomous vehicles. The position involves developing software in C/C++/CUDA while supporting machine learning pipelines and testing frameworks for commercial deployment.

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan with moderate travel requirements (11-25%).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy perception solutions for autonomous vehicle systems
  • Develop and deploy software in C/C++/CUDA for real-time computer vision applications
  • Conduct extensive testing to validate features and satisfy release schedules
  • Support development of data pipelines and machine learning infrastructure
  • Participate in code quality activities including design and code reviews
  • Work on object detection, semantic segmentation, and sensor fusion across LiDAR, vision, and radar systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on robotics system integration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • 3+ years industry experience working on real-world robot perception systems with at least two commercial projects
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++/Python with Linux development environment experience
  • Experience with ML/DL development using PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks
  • Background in object detection, semantic segmentation, multi-target tracking, or sensor fusion
  • Familiarity with development tools including git, valgrind, and gdb
  • Masters or PhD preferred with demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers

Compensation & Benefits: $160,000 - $200,000 annually
