Esper - Sales Development Manager

About Esper: Esper empowers dynamic and responsive policymaking in government by aligning data, stakeholders, and public policy goals to streamline the policymaking process across all levels of government.

Role Overview: The Sales Development Manager will drive top-of-funnel pipeline growth through prospecting and lead generation, working closely with Account Executives to engage government decision-makers and generate qualified opportunities for public sector technology solutions.

Location: Hybrid position in Austin, TX with minimum 3 days per week in-office requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support 1-2 Account Executives by prospecting and scheduling product demonstrations with government clients
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned prospect lists and expand into related jurisdiction types
  • Execute outreach campaigns and maintain high volume of daily prospecting calls (60+ calls per day) and emails
  • Establish credibility and rapport with government prospects to convert conversations into qualified sales opportunities
  • Meet and exceed monthly quotas for scheduled demos and qualified opportunities
  • Develop thorough knowledge of Esper's products and their applications in government policymaking and operations

Qualifications:

  • 0-1 year of sales experience, preferably in B2B SaaS or public sector technology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex technology solutions
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Experience with HubSpot or comparable CRM systems preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Political Science, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Ability to handle objections and remain persistent in sales conversations
