Verra Mobility - Accounting Manager

Verra Mobility Commercial Services provides smart mobility solutions, serving commercial fleets and rental car companies to manage tolling transactions and violations for millions of vehicles through connectivity with hundreds of tolling and issuing authorities.
Role Overview:
Lead accounting operations for the Commercial Services business, overseeing month-end close processes, managing revenue and expense recognition, and ensuring US GAAP compliance. Partner cross-functionally with business and finance teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Location:
Mesa, Arizona, United States.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Manage daily accounting operations including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Oversee revenue and cost of sales accounting with focus on contractual arrangements and usage-based billing
- Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Billing, and IT teams to ensure accurate financial results
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and financial schedules for accuracy
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to support business growth
- Support internal and external audits including SOX compliance activities
- Mentor and develop team of accounting professionals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA preferred
- 8+ years progressive accounting experience including 2+ years in supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP with public company or SOX experience preferred
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with large data sets and reporting tools
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team management
