RapidSOS - Corporate Counsel (6-Month Contract)

About RapidSOS: RapidSOS operates an intelligent safety platform connecting life-saving data from 600M+ devices to over 22,000 public safety agencies in six countries. The company specializes in emergency response technology and data integration for first responders and government agencies.

Role Overview: The Corporate Counsel will support legal initiatives across commercial contracting, government procurement, and data privacy on a 6-month contract basis. This position reports directly to the General Counsel and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Sales, Strategy, Product, and Public Safety.

Location: Remote or hybrid work arrangements available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as trusted legal partner on contract strategy, data use, and privacy matters for internal teams
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across multiple business verticals
• Advise on compliance with U.S. and international government procurement requirements and best practices
• Develop and refine internal policies, processes, and templates to improve legal operations scalability
• Monitor regulatory developments in privacy, commercial, and open source legal areas
• Manage legal matters and administrative tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards

Qualifications:

• J.D. with active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and good standing
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience with mix of in-house or law firm experience supporting technology companies
• Strong experience negotiating complex commercial contracts, including SaaS and sales-related agreements
• Familiarity with public sector sales and government procurement requirements
• Business-focused mindset with ability to balance legal risk management with business enablement
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide solution-oriented legal advice

Compensation & Benefits: $144,000 - $156,000 annually Competitive benefits package and equity participation in dynamic technology environment.
