Civic Review - Account Executive

Civic Review is a Utah-based SaaS startup providing permitting and licensing software for local governments (cities and counties). Founded in 2017, we're a profitable 4-person team based in Logan, UT. We help municipal customers manage their permitting and licensing processes with reliable revenue and steady growth.
Role Overview:
You will be the main sales effort for the company, working closely with the founder as their first dedicated sales hire. This full-cycle Account Executive role involves cultivating leads and closing deals in committee-driven environments with multiple stakeholders. You'll have direct impact on company growth and direction while helping municipalities improve their permitting and licensing processes.
Location:
Logan, UT (hybrid options for employees living 30-60 minutes away)
Key Responsibilities:
- Pursue leads generated by BDR team and self-generated prospects, leading customers through entire sales cycle to close
- Generate 20% of your own pipeline through cold calls and prospecting activities
- Attend conferences and network with current and future municipal customers
- Make sales presentations to prospective customers including high-level platform demonstrations
- Work closely with founder to fine-tune positioning, messaging, and sales strategy
- Target audience includes Clerks, Community Development Directors, Building Officials, City Planners, Finance Directors, and City/County Managers
- Continuously experiment with different methodologies to improve overall sales ROI
- Log activities in CRM with attention to detail
- Travel as needed (approximately 20-30%)
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of quota-carrying sales experience with previous software solution sales
- Self-motivated with hunter mentality and goal-oriented mindset
- Intelligent problem-solver able to brainstorm solutions with customers via platform
- Proficiency in communication including writing, verbal, and in-person channels
- Enjoys challenge of selling in committee-driven environment with multiple, cross-functional decision makers
- Detail-oriented, especially regarding CRM activity logging
- Excited about working with small startup and having voice in process improvements
- Willingness to occasionally accept responsibilities outside core role

Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary + commission (amount not specified)
