Accela - Account Director, North Central Region

About Accela: Accela has been an industry leader for nearly 20 years in designing and delivering government software to improve efficiency, increase citizen engagement, and enable community development through cloud-based SaaS solutions.

Role Overview: The Account Director will demonstrate strategic leadership and ownership mentality to drive sales growth within the North Central territory. This role involves managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, and coordinating cross-functional sales initiatives while working with enterprise government clients.

Location: North Central region with travel requirements exceeding 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow key accounts while ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term government partnerships
  • Identify and progress new business opportunities with top government prospects and decision makers
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and quota requirements
  • Maintain and grow revenue from existing customers through cross-selling solutions into new departments
  • Build comprehensive territory plans outlining strategy to secure new government prospects
  • Lead team of Account Executives providing guidance and support for regional sales activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience with enterprise software, preferably in government sector
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing key accounts
  • Experience in qualifying new opportunities and accurately forecasting government sales cycles
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with CRM software and sales tools

Compensation & Benefits: $120,000 - $150,000 annually plus commission eligibility Medical, dental, vision plans, 401(k) with company match, health savings account, and comprehensive well-being benefits package.
