Role Overview: You will lead a cross-functional team to build scalable systems for government partners, designing and implementing services that millions of Americans depend on. This role focuses on modernizing legacy enterprise platforms to improve public-facing processes and user experiences through human-centered design and modern engineering practices.

Location: Remote position available in: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6-8 engineers
  • Collaborate with government partners and contractors to architect and deploy new systems
  • Design, review, and build software using agile methodologies
  • Create tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production system support
  • Conduct technical documentation and code reviews
  • Support hiring activities including interviews and referrals

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in agile, multidisciplinary team environments building large-scale systems on AWS
  • 3+ years of engineering team management and mentoring experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
  • Experience building large-scale data services with FHIR/HL7 in healthcare
  • Proficiency with Angular, TypeScript, Go, Java, Spring Boot, Python, Apache server, and big data technologies (Spark, Databricks)
  • Strong systems thinking and user advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
