Role Overview:
You will lead a team of 6 engineers to develop end-to-end data systems for government partners, focusing on modernizing legacy enterprise platforms to improve public-facing processes. This role involves designing and implementing scalable data ecosystems that enable users to access programs and services in real-time through user-friendly interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of 6 engineers in agile development practices
- Design and develop scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines
- Implement large-scale data ecosystems within cloud-based platforms with data governance
- Work with government partners to develop data engineering applications and processing capabilities
- Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications
- Maintain security and privacy standards throughout all data pipeline aspects
- Support hiring activities including interviews and referrals
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in agile, multidisciplinary team environments building large-scale cloud platforms
- 3+ years of engineering team leadership and mentoring experience
- 3+ years of experience building data services on AWS
- Experience building large-scale data services with FHIR/HL7 in healthcare
- Proficiency with big data technologies: Apache Spark, AWS Glue, Athena, Databricks, Redshift, S3, and RDS
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java for applications and APIs
- Strategic thinking abilities for technical trade-offs and long-term planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Compensation & Benefits:
$135,900 - $153,000 annually
