About gWorks: gWorks provides cloud-based solutions for government financial accounting, utility billing, GIS, asset management, and citizen engagement to local governments nationwide.

Role Overview: Product Owner will lead development of an internal SaaS data transformation platform built on AWS, managing the full ingestion, mapping, validation, and deployment pipeline. The role focuses on building internal tooling that enables Implementation, Engineering, and Support teams to execute accurate data migrations for government clients.

Location: Hybrid position in Omaha, NE (Tuesdays/Thursdays in-office) or remote anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define scalable platform vision and translate strategy into platform-level roadmap
  • Own execution engine by breaking platform needs into testable epics and backlog-ready tickets
  • Build workflows and tools enabling non-engineers to run migrations and validate output
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on standards-based transformation pipeline development
  • Lead efforts to build validation, versioning, observability, and rollback capabilities
  • Define KPIs for transformation performance, schema accuracy, and team enablement
  • Partner with Implementation, Engineering, QA, and DevOps teams on platform priorities
  • Eliminate manual bottlenecks through automation and intuitive design

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience as Product Owner or Technical Product Manager
  • Deep experience with ETL or data transformation systems
  • Experience with SaaS platforms and internal tooling development
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure including S3, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, and Terraform
  • Proficiency in data formats including JSON, Parquet, schema validation, and mapping logic
  • History of building internal platforms that drive operational efficiency
  • Ability to write technically specific user stories with edge-case awareness
  • Experience with schema governance and reusable transformation frameworks preferred

Compensation & Benefits: $105,000 - $130,000 base salary plus performance-based bonus
