Authorium - Product Designer

About Authorium: Authorium is rethinking how government teams manage the mess of spreadsheets, documents, emails, and disconnected systems. Our platform brings all of that together into one place — from procurement to contracts to budgeting — making it easier for public agencies to work faster, stay compliant, and actually see what's going on. We care about clean design, practical solutions, and building tools that real people can use without training manuals.

Role Overview: You will be a mid-level product designer joining our fully remote team in a hands-on, production-focused role where you'll take on design challenges, move fast, and collaborate closely with product and engineering to bring features to life. You'll work directly with the Head of Product (also our current head designer), and your work will show up in the product fast with a lot of autonomy and trust. You'll help make complex workflows feel simple for users who are often new to the platform.

Location: Fully remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take rough product ideas and shape them into polished, user-friendly designs
  • Design flows, screens, and interactions using established design system (and improve it as you go)
  • Work quickly with clarity and care
  • Iterate in close partnership with Head of Product and PMs
  • Communicate proactively when something's unclear or blocked
  • Use real content, realistic edge cases, and thoughtful states (no lorem ipsum)
  • Help make complex workflows feel simple for government users new to the platform

Qualifications:

  • Strong production designer — fast, thoughtful, and clear
  • 3-5 years of product design experience (bonus if in SaaS or enterprise tools)
  • Comfortable working independently without waiting for all answers
  • Value clean, usable, modern design and can execute on it
  • Communicate openly and collaborate without ego
  • Love taking something off someone's plate and returning with real options
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments and stay calm under shifting priorities
  • Great with Figma: components, libraries, auto-layout, the works
  • Design with real-world content and think beyond the "happy path"
  • NOT suitable for those who need heavy direction, get defensive during feedback, or prefer long design cycles

Compensation & Benefits: $95,000 - $110,000 salary Flexible PTO, 100% employer-funded medical/dental/vision insurance, fully remote with $500 home office stipend, and 401K with profit sharing plan.
