Role Overview: You will lead a team of 3-5 engineers to improve and manage AWS-deployed systems that serve millions of Americans. This role involves setting technical direction for scalable, secure systems while ensuring high performance and reliability for critical government services.

Location: Remote position available in: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set technical direction and standards for team to ensure scalability, reliability, and security
  • Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 infrastructure engineers
  • Code, manage, configure, and maintain AWS services with documentation and runbooks
  • Implement security controls and ensure system compliance
  • Join on-call rotation as first line of defense during production issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver on project requirements
  • Support hiring activities including interviews and referrals

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience
  • Experience leading small engineering teams (3-5 engineers)
  • Experience maintaining large-scale production systems using Infrastructure as Code on AWS
  • Proficiency with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, LaunchDarkly, Terraform, and Atlantis
  • Strong experience in cloud infrastructure, Unix/Linux, scripting, and security
  • Scripting abilities in Shell, PowerShell, Bash, Python, JavaScript, or Ruby
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Compensation & Benefits: $126,000 - $135,900 annually Comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) match (4%), annual performance bonus, parental leave, sabbatical leave after continuous service, and professional development budget.
