Role Overview: You will drive design and research efforts for government programs affecting millions of Americans, leading cross-functional teams from concept to implementation. This role involves collaborating with government contractors and civil servants while championing user needs through research, prototyping, and design systems.

Location: Remote position available in: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize, plan, and deliver roadmap-level design and research initiatives
  • Apply human-centered design principles by focusing relentlessly on user needs
  • Drive user understanding through quantitative and qualitative research initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver discovery artifacts, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Map and drive systemic improvements within complex government service environments
  • Turn complex requirements into simple and accessible digital experiences
  • Share research findings with internal and external collaborators

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a designer working in product teams
  • Experience mapping and driving systemic improvements in complex service environments
  • Experience designing, testing, and implementing digital services
  • Proficiency with web and responsive user interface best practices
  • Strong experience building collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Strategic thinking around trade-offs in complex ecosystems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Portfolio required with application (applications without portfolio will not be considered)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Compensation & Benefits: $119,000 - $140,000 annually Comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) match (4%), annual performance bonus, parental leave, sabbatical leave after continuous service, and professional development budget.
