Role Overview: You will be an analytical thinker who is tech-savvy and passionate about working with financial data as an Accounting Data Update Consultant. You should possess the ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences with self-motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This role requires a strong interest in working with financial data and thriving in a dynamic environment, ideally with prior experience working in municipal finance or a school budgeting setting. You'll prepare client-provided financial data for integration into the ClearGov platform while leading client-facing interactions to resolve data-related issues.

Location: Flexible, remote work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare client-provided financial data (revenue & expenditures) for import and integration into ClearGov platform
  • Analyze and structure data to ensure it aligns with both client needs and system requirements
  • Review incoming data tickets to ensure submissions meet requirements before processing
  • Lead client-facing calls to resolve data-related issues, clarify requirements, and gather necessary information for successful task completion
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support client success and promote adoption of ClearGov's products
  • Manage multiple priorities, balancing standard timelines with urgent data requests
  • Guide clients on best practices for using their data within platform, helping prevent data loss or errors
  • Suggest process improvements to strengthen team efficiency and data quality assurance
  • Support teammates by helping troubleshoot complex data challenges
  • Communicate client feedback to Product team to help shape platform improvements and usability

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of finance, especially accounting and budgeting (knowledge of local government finance a major plus)
  • Experience working with local government/school district finance administrators preferred
  • Experience working with data in spreadsheets or databases required
  • Ability to communicate complex information at technical level appropriate to audience
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communicator
  • Comfortable in client-facing discussions and meetings with client success mindset
  • Very strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Fluency in Excel required (knowledge of Power Query a plus)
  • Eager learner who can quickly apply what they learn
  • Experience with PowerBI/PowerQuery, SQL, Zendesk preferred
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with zeal to win
  • Great communicator with strong oral and written skills
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
